T Shirt Printing Options - Iron-on, Screenprint, DTG - 417 South St, Philadelphia, PA 19147
if you're looking into having custom
t-shirts made there are a lot of
different options but for the average
person choosing the right option can
sometimes get a little confusing in this
video we will be exploring three
different types of printing processes
iron-on screen printing and
direct-to-garment or ttg for short each
process has its own set of pros and cons
hopefully this video will help you
decide which one best suits your needs
let's first take a look at iron-on the
iron-on printing process is the easiest
way to put an image on a shirt you can
print a design on transfer paper with
any old printer and apply to a product
with a high heat source like an iron cut
vinyl is often used instead of
commercial use to achieve higher quality
and durability the pros of the iron-on
printing process are as follows it's
easy to do at home it's good for
one-offs and is a low machinery
investment the cons of the iron-on
printing process are that the image will
crack and peel faster than others is
also time consuming if done by hand and
varying printers means varying colors
now for a look at screen printing screen
printing is a process in which ink is
applied to the product and layers one
color at a time
this technique is old but good and is
still widely used today screen printing
produces higher numbers for lower cost
it is durable for the cost and a low
machinery investment however more colors
equals a higher cost and there's the
risk of cracking and peeling over time
screen printing is also limited to ink
color so there are no gradients and
finally let's take a look at direct to
garment DTG is a more modern printing
process in which printers apply ink
directly to the garment the ink sinks in
and actually dyes the fabric of the
product this process produces the
highest quality and durability is good
for one-offs and ready in one hour or
less it also offers the full color
spectrum at no extra costs however the
machinery cost is high and the price of
materials doesn't change no matter how
many shirts you print thank you so much

you decide which
process is right for you if you have any
