The Truth About T-Shirt Pricing For Your Brand [How to Price T-Shirts] [T-Shirt Pricing Guide]

how're you guys going against the
establishment t-shirts I'll soup at
attempt number two to this video got cut
shirt you know as you guys know I just
freestyle my tapas off the top of my
head so I need to get it through a run
straight through type of deal so today's
video is the truth about pricing okay
now this video we will talk about
pricing as far as if you were trying to
create a coating brand
cusotm t shirts  no minimum
alright so I'm not going to waste no
time I know it my time is limited maybe
to five minutes so let me jump right
into it so thing number one to consider
alright is how much it cost you to make
alright so you know you have a lot more
wiggle room based off what it's costing
you to make and I'm really going to talk
about t-shirts here and then at the end
I'll sum up how do you move higher up
and different things so if this costing
you you know three four dollars to make
it you have a lot more wiggle room if
you're producing yourself or something
like along those lines when you're
getting in quantities where your
production cost is way lower you know
you have a lot more wiggle room at which
you can offer alright I think the normal
for a basic t-shirt is around five to
six dollars next that which is a gilding
a next level child t-shirt is going to
cost you anywhere from around six to
eight dollars deserves eight let's say
six to nine dollars and anything over
that like American approach cuz you know
a little higher so basically nine to
thirteen dollars or something like that
for you know and the price range of
ordering t-shirts so keeping that in
mind you at least want to double your
money no matter what you do you want to
sell one shirt and beta by two more okay
then you also want to try to pay
yourself or you know have a little bit
more extra in there so you can do
discounts and everything like that but
you at least want to double your money
no matter what there is so if you're
getting it for four you want to leave
set up for eight you getting for seven
you want to settle for fourteen being a
for ten you in a set of 20 that is the
least you want to do okay in my opinion
you want to double up your money and
reinvest that and get two shirts for for
the price that you got one so now the
second thing that you want to consider
is it just slipped my mind give me two
seconds and it will come right back okay
the second
is your pricing model okay the model
that you want to pursue so I believe
it's like three tiers there's a low-end
tier which is the ten or maybe even
eight I've seen you search to go for
eight eight to fifteen dollars and then
there's that range for twenty to thirty
dollars which is like the normal price
range regular retail in my opinion the
twenty to thirty dollar range and then
there's high in anything go for regular
t-shirt again just a plain she's not
playing but just a t-shirt here
anything over 30 dollars what I would
consider to be high in all right now for
the low-end price instruction you're
trying to sell a million shirts at cheap
as possible all right now I did I did
this and made over ten thousand dollars
in a month doing this for novelty are
basically the black colleges which was
HBCU tees when I did straight out things
I think this is a highly effective for
trendy or novelty type of brands okay so
if you're making a the latest song into
a t-shirt or you're making a you're
taking a movie title and flipping it
into something else or you're following
like the straight out of movies just a
kid movement like black lives matter or
like anything tricky at that time I
think this is a great model for you to
follow and just try to sell a million of
get them out the door get them in and
out have them sold before you get them
do pre-orders you know make the regular
price fifteen a pre-order for 10 after
weeks or two weeks and then fill them
orders and then put the price up to
fifteen or don't even make it to make it
a week make it three days were for
pre-order and you'll get orders fast and
fast no come in and come in so that's
one two is where I put my brand first
step and it's like I wanted to be a
everyday brand but I don't want it to be
low and I want people to consider it
like a privilege to have it but not have
to go above and beyond
alright to purchase it you know it's
it's like a thought about it though I
really like it okay yeah I'm gonna get
it but with the lowering Brad it's like
oh it's only ten dollars or so only
fifteen off let me go ahead and get that
that's no big deal I like it what it
says whatever case is but I wanted to
build a lifestyle brand with fur so I
picked that middle range to try to
in Windows all right then the high-end
brain I have nothing of the high-end
brain my friend actually did some
research questions for $100 a piece and
it was you know regular sweatshirts on a
sweat suits but the high-end brand is
basically you're trying to sell to the
exclusive people like you're trying to
sell in to celebrity style people or
people who want to keep up the
appearance that they have a lot of money
there's you know anything like a third
Thrasher isn't really a big high-end
branch like a regular streetwear brand
but you know you want to be in there
with the let me think of one I can't
even think of one just it's on the top
of my mind but I don't have the red logo
and the inside says something oh I
slipped my mind
but whatever it case is you want to you
know you want to sell to our money
exchange you want to be that type of
brain we're paying for you and you know
forty five and thirty five dollars for a
shirt you know that's what you can do
then take more power to you I just don't
see the point in that because I know how
much it actually cost me all right the
last thing you want to consider is what
is your competition doing don't be that
foolish person that don't think you have
competition you know where the
competitors doing what are people
actually like doing so to the brands
that I totally love is one is element I
love everything ugly does I try to model
after that and because at first is a
brand called Portland gear and I really
am trying to model my things after I
believe again as you guys know still
like an artist so you know I take things
I see and flip it and I love everything
about ugh monk and then I love what
Portland gear does for Portland there's
other ones out there like for one to
gear for pitch birds and stuff like that
the Ohio brand
I forgot how high allegiance or
something like that I just look for
branches look for people who are doing
exactly what you want to do and model
after them that's also a good tip now
the last thing I'm gonna talk about is
the pricing so when you go from a
basically when you go from a t-shirt to
a hoodie to a sweatshirt or you know
from I'm sorry t-shirt to sweatshirt to
hoodie - that's pretty much basically
the movement in our t-shirt and like
ten types of stuff will fall into the
same bracket alright so I'm trying to
rush and try not to go over because I
got a little bit much on my six and a
half minutes okay so basically if you're
in a novelty brand you want to look at
going up five dollars each t-shirt is
fifteen sweaters 20 a hoodie is twenty
five that's the increase that you want
to go with now with my brand I'm going
to go up I'm going to sell my shirts at
$26 then I'm going to go from there to
thirty six dollars and from there I'm
going to go to either 48 or 42 or 48
dollars for the hoodies because there
are nicer hoodies so I can get in a
different ring but basically a six
dollar increment is what I'm going to go
up and also a sweatshirt and a a
baseball shirt are in the same level so
you guys know that now it's basically
that structure is how the pricing goes
up as well we purchase wholesale so a
t-shirt might be three dollars think
about next level stuff three dollars a
nicer to serve might be five like the
nicer nicer style t-shirt might be five
like I actually lost something like that
and then you go up from there so a
sweatshirt will also be five dollars
alright um a hoodie or maybe a sweater a
nicer sweatshirt going to be seven or
eight dollars a hoodie years and as well
as the baseball shirt the hoodie would
be around 850 to $13 really now the
nicer hoodies are like thirteen dollars
so it's a price jump you know basically
three dollars every time you go up so
what you want to you know three or four
dollars every time you go up so what you
want to do is you want to account for
that the same exact way so you just bump
your prices up you know I'm a but mine
up six dollars for my nice brand for my
t-shirts for them trendy stuff with my
HBCU tees and stuff like that I took the
prices up five dollars alright so this
is the real real about pricing for a
brand this has been Stan banks t-shirts
