PUTTING YOUR ART DESIGN ON A SHIRT!!! Spreadshirt Shirt Design Merch Contest!

welcome back at home video my name's
Creek and today I'm going to be
announcing at the start of the Christmas
rush new year's merchandise art contest
so you guys don't know I do have a
Spreadshirt merchandise to wear the link
to that is always in the description of
every single video and I also have a
link in the eye in the sky right up here
in the top right hand corner or over
there custom long sleeve shirts no minimum
on the video you can click and access
the merchandise store from there but I
was looking through the store and I
thought it was time for some fresh new
design so I'm like you don't want I
think it might be collided to do a
merchandise art contest now I do have
some fresh new designs coming your way
via a few different artists and those
should be coming up over the next couple
weeks but I wanted to get some community
artwork on a t-shirt because I think
would be really cool so here's how this
is gonna work you guys have until
January 15 so starting right now -
January 15th if you do choose to
participate to create an original piece
of digital artwork that would be going
on a spread shirt shirt in our
Spreadshirt store if it does win the
contest so it's basically an entire
month from now on - January 15 2017 to
create this piece of art now this art
can be anything relating to me or to the
channel or channel memes or anything
like that as long as it is of course you
know ultimately relating to the creeks
craft channel now it can be anything you
want if you've ever had an idea you know
you were like maybe watching a stream
you're like man you should really put
down on t-shirt and now is your chance
okay
now one's a chance you can design that
that design or that saying whatever you
want to put on t-shirt and send it to me
and maybe it will just go on a t-shirt
here's requirements though okay it needs
to be an original piece of artwork
meaning has to be 100% designed by you
you can't use you know pictures of
morgan freeman or the president or
anything that has to be 100% designed by
you no copying no copyright materials et
cetera said okay it also has to be 100%
family-friendly so no bad words no
inappropriate pictures nothing like that
family-friendly you guys know the drill
now before you start creating artwork
and going crazy in the photo shops and
the and the gimps there are a few
requirements that you shouldn't know
alright so let's go over them okay so
I'm gonna put the requirements on screen
and they'll also be in the description
the art that you're gonna be creating
right okay so first off your art needs
to be a digital piece in a PNG JPEG BMP
or gif file format
I recommend PNG cuz it's the easiest and
it might be the best thing to work with
well that means it has to be digitally
created so Photoshop or GIMP etc has to
be created in a digital file format on
the computer so unfortunately you can't
draw something on a piece of paper and
then send it to me cuz that won't work
it needs to be in a digital file format
I recommend PNG now the maximum file
size has to be under ten megabytes right
if it's over that it won't work on the
shirt it has to be under ten megabytes
that's pretty big though so you
shouldn't be running into any issues but
I just want to throw that out there it
has to be under ten megabytes now the
image resolution has to be at least 200
dpi that this makes sure that everything
is clear and good to go now if you're
working in Photoshop or anything like
that a program similar to photoshop 200
EPI is pretty much the standard baseline
way above that so it shouldn't be an
issue but just be sure when you're
creating your artwork that you're
working in an image resolution of at
least 200 dpi now on the maximum file
size for this piece of artwork is 4,000
by 4,000 pixels okay if it's any bigger
on to scale it down and I really don't
want to do that cuz then we could get
into shrinking and and transformations
the stuff he looks really bad when you
had to scale it down so what I recommend
doing is making it under 4,000 by 4,000
pixels I find that a thousand by a
thousand or somewhere around there works
best just be sure that it is under 4,000
pixels all right and then the last thing
is it needs to be transparent all right
what this means is that the image has to
have a transparent background all right
it can't have a background too has to be
completely transparent no one last thing
I want to point out is that the shirts
are printed into a CMYK color mode
format know if you don't know what CMYK
color mode is RGB color mode is
basically they're two of the most used
colorful mats so if you go in Photoshop
or GIMP you'll probably see them as an
option and most photo editors are
editors baseline default into RGB color
mode now if you can work in a CMYK color
mode please please please do that
and the reason why is because whenever
the art is printed onto the t-shirt it's
gonna be printed in the CMYK color mode
which makes the colors a little bit
duller alright so if you can work in a
CMYK color mode then great that way
whenever you design the piece of art and
send it to me
the colors are gonna remain the same
throughout so it'll look exactly the
same Letitia and is as it did on your
computer monitor if you send me
something out of an RGB color mode then
the colors are gonna be dulled a little
bit on the t-shirt now that's fine it's
not a huge deal all you have to do is
make the colors of the art a little bit
bolder make the contrast a little bit
higher that way whenever you send me the
send me the design it's printed on the
t-shirt and the colors are dulled down
it'll look normal
so if you send me a design with with
dull colors and then I print it on the
t-shirt it's gonna look even the dollar
which isn't gonna look good so so make
sure that your colors are bright and
bold if you are working in an RGB color
mode and if you are working in CMYK and
then great perfect that's exactly how
it's gonna look once it's on the t-shirt
now where do you send me your artwork
once you're finished with it well you
can send it to the email on screen right
here I also have that in the description
and that's the only place I'm gonna be
accepting art or this contest so if you
send it to me on Twitter or if you send
it to me on Facebook I will not accept
it I'm only going to accept arts into
that email address and the reason for
that is that way everything's nice and
tidy everything is sent to one place and
it's like easier to to get all our
pieces together for the for the final
voting now how I'm gonna choose the
winners is like this I'm gonna go
through all the arts that is sent in and
I'm gonna pick the top five in my
opinion and then I'm gonna make a video
letting you guys vote on the top five
and whichever one wins that's the one
that's gonna be put on the t-shirt and
that's the person who's gonna win the
contest no what do you get from winning
the contest well if you win the contest
Internet and you're in America in the
United States I will send you a t-shirt
for free with your design on it you can
choose the color of the t-shirt the size
all that stuff but I will send you a
copy of your t-shirt with your design on
it for free if you're in the United
States of America if you're not in the
US then I unfortunately can't send you a
t-shirt but I will give you a Minecraft
roblins giftcard equivalent to $25 was
just pretty much the price of a t-shirt
in the Spreadshirt store now this can be
a copy of Minecraft this can be a rank
on a minecraft server like my in place
or hypixel it can be 25 and 25 dollars
worth of roebucks it's entirely up to
you but if you are in America in the
United States I will send you a copy of
your t-shirt with your design on it for
free and if you're not in America then I
will give you 25 dollars worth of
goodies in Minecraft or roblox your
choice I think that's just about it that
uh needs to be said about the contest I
think I covered everything if I did not
an annotation on screen somewhere but if

have until January 15th for this so no
need to rush through this or work
quickly you guys have basically an
entire month to work on this piece of
art now right now there's just gonna be
one winner and one t-shirt design
accepted and you don't want it in the

definitely do some more of these in the
future and we'll have another contest
similar to this in the in the future but

again pretty much cause everything

that you guys make cuz I know you guys
