Plastisol Transfer Paper - It's Just Like Getting a Screen Printed T Shirt

calm welcome back to our website and
today I want to talk about Placidus aw
transfers people are asking what are
they how do they work can I make them at
home can I make them with my printer and
I'm going to address those questions in
this video but first I've talked briefly
about screen printed shirts this shirt
here I bought at the store will screen
print it the company Puma in this case
hired a company and a screen printed
probably a couple hundred thousand of
these t-shirts now the only difference
between this green printed shirt and
this plastic saw transfer is the fact
that the screen printers screen printed
the design onto this t-shirt with
plastics all transfers what you'll find
is a special release paper that's blank
is similar to this on the other side
some blank transfer a blank release
paper and what they'll do is steadily
inning those spring printing inks onto a
t-shirt
they'll screen print those inks on to
this release paper thus giving you
custom plaster saw transfers or custom
screen printed transfers so you have the
exact same type of inks that they would
normally screen print onto a shirt put
it onto paper and now the beauty is this
is cheaper you get the same quality and
the inks will last just as long so what
I'm going to do is transfer a design on
to this shirt right off of this paper
here and what I'm going to do here is
take this shirt it's blank t-shirt and
I'm gonna lay it down on the heat press
and again plastics all transfers I mean
these things I have some that are
t-shirts out of eight and nine years old
that I've transferred on and what
happened will put this transfer now what
in order to make this work you need lots
of heat in this case here I have two
hundred eighty five degrees of heat and
you need lots of pressure I have about
50 pounds of pressure then exert it down
onto this t-shirt and the transfer and I
got a timer set here for eight seconds
and eat the meal for 10 seconds so one
two and we'll let it go two seconds over
and then what we'll do is peel the
transfer away from the SIRT now what
happens to design leave the paper
the way this is only good for one-time
use so I'm gonna trash this and what
you'll get is the design transfer to the
certain just a term custom screen
printed transfers or plastic saw
transfers the ink is transferred from
the class all paid from the paper
directly on to the garment now you can
watch this shirt for the next five years
and the ink is gonna hold up in fact
what I'm going to do you can also use
this to print on to dark colored shirts
and here's what I have here dark color
shirt and we'll already got a design on
it so I'm gonna print on the back and
did the same search i'm kind of cheap
like that and so you can print on the
dark color shirts when you have your
design or plastics all transfer made for
dark colored garments somebody's gonna
preheat insert for about two seconds
okay I'm gonna lay this down down eight
ten twelve ten seconds so I'm gonna let
it go two seconds after it beeps
one two and we're gonna peel it off in a
nice smooth even motion design is gone
from the transfer only use it one time
and what you get is a custom screen
printed quality shirt now again you can
wash this shirt a hundred times and the
ink is still going to remain this is
different from screen printed transfers
that come this is different from the
heat transfers that come out of your
home printer two different types of ink
the ink here are the same type of inks
for screen printed from quick screen
printers used to print on the shirts the
ink from your printers are meant for
paper
so therefore the quality is not as great
won't last as long will break will crack
or peel now cost on these things again
just like screen printing is based on
the quantity that you order is based on
the number of colors in the design so
for example I can get a one design
transfer and I say for instance I order
200 sheets probably about 55 cents
apiece so for 55 cents times 200 is
going around at
for easy math 200 times but he says I
get 200 transfers one color for $100 you
can't get 50 cent you can you can take
this to a screen printer and get it done
for 55 cents so custom screen printed
transfers this is what they are that's
how they work you cannot use this paper
you cannot run it through your home
printer does not work that way
you have to send it out to the companies
that specialize in this process and
