within and in this video we're going to
take a first look at M Taylor want to be
many made-to-measure online shirt
companies out there and we're gonna see
if they do indeed have a magic sizing
system perfect fit guaranteed and 20%
more accurate than a professional tailor
is what their website states and so
that's saying a lot custom shirts no minimum
so let's see and put them to the test
first before we get into that I want to
quickly go over something that I put out
over on my blog it is a holiday gift

body and the mind that I thought were

other products that I think are really
really cool that I want to invest in

there's just a lot of really awesome

another book right here is the handbook
of style a man's guide to looking good
by Esquire this is my favorite men's
style book because it has lots of really
great advice for modern-day gentlemen
and dressing stylish in a modern day and
so it's got the basics it's got the
essentials there's a lot of awesome
visuals and graphics in this book and so
this is another book that's in my
holiday gift guide so I'm gonna link to
that up there for you guys and in the
description below so if you want to
check out that gift guide there's some
really cool stuff in there and maybe
you'll find something that you like and
you want to pick up for yourself or if
you know somebody or if you still have
some last-minute shopping to do
all right so first off I want to thank M
Taylor for sending this shirt over to me
complimentary and so yeah I greatly
appreciate that so let's get into this
so a little bit about the M Taylor
company they're headquartered in San
Francisco and that is also where their
clothes are designed and their tailors
are out of China and Bangladesh I
believe they offer shirts as well as
suits and also jeans M tailor is
probably one of the only way to measure
companies out there that have this
algorithm where you measure yourself
with your phone and it's a very simple
process all you have to do is download
the app on iPhone or Android and it's
just really quick three simple steps you
just set it up set your phone on the
ground next to a wall you stand back
you can go shirtless or not and you just
put your hands up and then you just spin
360 and you just do that slowly and
after like 30 seconds whole algorithm
works its magic and then boom your
perfect fit shirt is gonna be on its way
to you I went with a medium blue denim
shirt in a hundred percent heavy weight
denim cotton the fabric feels really
really rough and so it's a lot more
rough than I thought it would be
I got a denim shirt because I wanted it
to be that soft denim and it's just very
rough and it feels kind of harsh your
customization options you can go for of
course the button-down collar which I
went for you can get the cutaway collar
or spread collar customization options
on the cuffs and they do have lots of
different types of shirts and patterns
and colors so that is good that they
have lots of options if you're going to
wear watch they accommodate and make
that cuff a little bit wider so that the
watch can fit comfortably on the inside
the buttons are not mother-of-pearl
there are plastic buttons but at this
price point I don't expect for them to
have mother-of-pearl their prices range
from 69 to 89 dollars which is not that
bad if you think about it compared to
other made-to-measure which can go well
over $100 but from a 69 to 89 dollar
price point I don't expect for the
quality of the fabric to be all that
great but this is not about the quality
of fabric but it's about the fit and so
let's see how this fits let me back up
and take a look full body
see how they did with the fit all right
so let's take a look at the fit of the
shirt don't mind all the wrinkles I just
unpackaged it and did not iron it yet
but the sleeves fit pretty well not too
tight not too much loose fabric and the
sleeve length is good it hits at the
right spot right at the wrist bone the
length the shirt is also good it hits
around mid fly and so not too short not
too long the shoulder seam ends exactly
where my shoulder bone is and so the
shoulders fit really really well so in
case you didn't know the three crucial
parts of the fit of a shirt is the
shoulders the length of the sleeve and
the length of the shirt itself so let's
take a look at the side view you can see
that it's pretty well in the body take a
look at the back till the shirt ends at
the right spot it covers about half of
the seat area you can see that the the
hem is a straight line it's not too
curved and so it's a shirt that's meant
to be worn untucked there's enough room
for me to move freely without feeling
restricted that's a common problem with
a lot of shirts sometimes they're just
too tight and some guys are wearing sure
it's way too tight but this shirt
actually fits really well when I'm
moving my arms the shirt still fits and
allows for me to move freely yeah it's
just a good fit overall so yeah I think
I did a great job with the fit I do want
to say that this shirt is actually the
second round and the first round didn't
fit in that it was too long it was meant
to be worn tucked in and so I still have
that shirt and I could still wear it and
I could just tuck it in but school is
that like all the other made-to-measure
companies they allow for remakes and so
they remade this shirt for your charge
it takes about a week and a half to two
weeks to get to you which is not that
bad for me to measure all in all the
shirt fits pretty flawlessly across the
board and they pretty much nailed the
fit on the first go-round
there were no other alterations that
needed to be done shoulders were good
the length was good for mostly
the body is good but yeah I think M
teller is a great value for the price
and the fact that they have one of the
best measurement processes in all of
online way to measure with their phone
algorithm it just it's very accurate you
know they probably have thousands upon
thousands of people at this point and so
they have so many samples that over time
I'm sure that their algorithm got better
and better and better and now it's
probably pretty failsafe so when you you
know get measured by their their app
it's gonna probably nail the fit for you
just like it did for me and so yeah I
would recommend em tailor you don't want
to go through the hassle of getting your
measurements down and measuring yourself
a tape measure then this algorithm that
M Taylor has is very simple I think it
is great for a first-timer and so if
you're looking for a pretty affordable
made-to-measure company that's gonna
nail the fit for you I would check out M
Taylor they offer free shipping for up
to 30 dollar purchase and free remakes
so you know you really can't go wrong so
if they do mess it up on that first
go-around
they'll remake another shirt for you
until they get it right so you know
