talk about niche selection so as we're
getting started I kind of want to hear
from you guys give me an itch that you'd

you'd like me to actually build out
we're going to build a store and it's
going to be a niche that you know you
guys literally get to pick right
whatever whatever you want right post it
out in the comments on Google Hangouts

we got the owl owl lovers niche jewelry
spiritual new-age money so uh Pierce's
jewelry I'm going to say peer that's
that to me that's not a niche okay and
cat cat jewelry would be a product that
I sell in my cat store cats is
definitely a niche but jewelry I think
is a product type again I think there's
a big difference there you have a
product type that's one thing but you
have a niche which would be like an
interest right we always want to focus
on interest that's super important right
your niche shouldn't be a product type
it should be a interest or a hobby or a
job title right and I always see if I
it's just going to load I know my server
has been a little slow let's see if this

list of 40 hot niches inside of Shopify
and you know you can see things here
where you know you don't see jewelry
right you don't see t-shirts you don't
see pillowcases those are types of
products you see dentists
chicken cows running reading
weightlifting tennis right
those are interests right we want to
pick an interest to build as our niche
Bronson Bronson has some good niches but
he doesn't want to give them away
that's greedy man you should you should
share it so we can all take your niche
and copying on them I'm obviously just
kidding let's go eat on it you don't
need to share if you don't want nurses
and golf those are great but we've
actually done those is I think golf was
the first one that we did and nurses
might have been the second or third one
that we did so those are good are you

what niches should we test what make

actually building a store in that niche
with a partner right now so that's good
and i think it's a big one obviously
people are very passionate about things
and that's a big key right you want to
find a niche where people are super
passionate about things right it's not
about it's not about something that you
know just you know you think could make
money it needs to be something where
there's you know significant amounts of
passion right out of one of my biggest
stores is a cat store and clearly people
are super passionate about cats right a
lot people want to do a dog store or
specific breed of dogs right cuz people
are super passionate about dogs or you
know specific breeds of dogs so let's
see you just give a quick refresh here
and see what kind of niches we can see
what kind of inches you guys want to see
and we'll pick one in a in a few seconds
so Elektra want to see golf
guys we did golf and I'm not sure if
there's a lot of golf fans here but I
think that was one of our really one of
our first that we did in there so
cooking oh that's an interesting one I
think cooking is pretty good yeah that's
that's an weight lifting a weight
lifting is definitely a super super
popular one guitar yeah we actually I
believe we did guitar a few weeks ago

a bowling that's an interesting one how
was how was mu commerce going uh Jan or
John sort of mispronouncing your name
incorrectly but he was uh here for when
we did a cow store I think it was two
weeks ago last week we did a pig store
and we think was called swaggy Pig and
some weeks ago we did a cal stores
called mu commerce so the niches on
screen are Facebook ad options ya see
these are absolutely great great niches
that we can do and you know what let's
let's good bowling I see a couple people
saying bowling or bicycling that's
pretty good one too
okay bowling or bicycling let's just do
bowling
let's do bowling you know so it's kind
of unique one and I actually I don't
even know how this is
happening but I've consistently over the
past year or maybe even more I
constantly like always get targeted for
bowling shirts maybe I must like some
bowling page or something
especially ads I think I like a bowling
a professional bowler on Facebook I'm
constantly getting targeted with funny
bowling shirts so I think they'll be a
cool one to do and I don't think I'm
stepping on anyone's toes here because I
unless you know if you were planning to
use bowling as a niche I'm sorry if you
think that I'm outing you right now but
we're going to go with Bolton okay and
we need to prove the niche first that's
the big thing okay and to prove the
niche we're going to do that inside of
Facebook ads and we're not going to even
build an ad we're just going to simply
need to prove that we need to prove that
inside of Facebook there are enough
people inside the bowling niche okay so
I'm going to bring over Facebook ads and
I'm going to show you how we prove the
niche okay and let's go back to the
agenda for a second all right we're
talking about niche selection that's the
first thing we're going to talk about
platform and partners we're going to do
some design research talk about how to
work with designers and we're going to
do marketing specifically Facebook Ads
so we're gonna start with our bowling
niche and I know it and Frank jr. says
is kayaking good sure anything where
people have a passion right anything
people are passionate about that's a
good niche right he's underwater
basket-weaving a good niche probably not
because I don't know too many people
that are passionate about it but bowling
you know there's a lot of people
passionate about all right cats dogs you
know you saw on that PDF list you bring
it up again right chickens cows guitars
cats dogs biology you know scrapbooking
sewing movies cycling triathlons MMA you
know if you go to your Facebook newsfeed
you'll see people talking about those
things you bet money you can find either
a cat or a dog picture or video shared
on your Facebook newsfeed right now all
right now because people are super
passionate about those things so that's
great right
those are the types of things if there's
no passion involved and you want to stay
away as simple as that right you don't
want to work on a niche where there's no
passion and again we're not right now
we're going to test the niche or prove
the niche we want to make sure that it's
big enough so we can capture some upset
okay before I do that you know I want to
give you the couple of reasons to stick

access to this really powerful tool
called audience insights so we're going
to open it up and here's audience
insights so
what does this tool do well it basically
tells us kind of what what the
demographics are on Facebook and it
gives us some more information but
remember we're going to do the bowling
niche okay so we need to prove that
there are enough people inside the
bowling that's all we need to do is
literally just type in the main term
bowling right we're going to select
bowling and we're going to focus on
what's up here okay 7 to 8 million
people monthly active on Facebook right
so that means 7 to 8 million people
every month are actively talking about
engaging with liking sharing commenting
about things posts pages videos about
bowling okay now if we went up here and
saw this number to be 225 thousand
that's too small okay we want to find a
niche at least has 500,000 really it
should be even bigger than that should
be over a million and you're going to
have no problem finding sizes like that
if you're working with a passion niche
right if you're working with something
where there's no passion then forget
about write anything you're not going to
succeed
it's not about isn't about you're not
going to succeed or not you're just like
I have any upside to capture and we
don't want to do that right we want to
absolutely you know if we want to
absolutely have upside right we want to
make money right we don't want to target
only 200,000 people we want to target in
a million so you know literally took 5
seconds to do this we're just get a type
in bowling and we see the audience size
7 to 8 million people monthly that's
great ok and I'll tell you the cat niche
there's 35 million people ended monthly
the pitbull niche there's 50 million
people the fitness niche weightlifting
whatever you want to call it 120 million
people every month right so you talk
about the upside on Facebook ads right
you could start and we'll talk about ads
at the end you can solve a bit early a
$5 ad and you know $5 ad you can reach a
very targeted set of people and if the
ad works right then you have 8 million
people to target so when you find
something that works you get to scale it
up and that's the power of Facebook ads
or you're not signing any type of
agreement saying I'm going to spend a
million dollars in the next week no you
start with five and you understand more
you spend more you want to spend 10 go
you know it's been 20 fine right and the
cool thing is you spend more when it
works but you need to make sure that you
know your you know your audience is of
size okay that's the first thing you
want to make sure okay the second thing
you want to make sure on the audience
inside so come over to this page likes
tab you'll come over here and you're
going to want to find more than just one
- interests that are about bowling okay
so you know maybe you can sort by
affinity on here and you could see you
know a couple different things that are
on bowling and let's say the sport of
bowling right so we're going to take
over here the sport of bowling or we're
going to add it in over here the sport
of bowling okay we're going to add it
and now you're going to see even more
recommendations like bowling ball comm
you know see what else
Fox Sports sometimes random kind of
things that pop up here's bowling the
sport right so we want to just find more
than one right and clearly there's more
than one there's three okay so you know
anytime there's going to be you know
this part is kind of redundant because
anytime you have 7 8 10 20 even 1
million it's going to be made up of
multiple page likes and that's important
right we don't want to limit our upside
to only having one way to target people
so there you go we have we've proven the
niche in a matter of minutes right
there's upside it's worth investigating
we know that it's a passion niche so you
know with that being said we can move
forward and actually go ahead and build
out this niche so we've proven the niche
we've literally already done step 1
right we found a passion dish we've
proven that there's enough we've proven
the niche ok if you want to do another
niche all you need to do is go and prove
that there's big enough size make sure
that it's a passion niche and make sure
that there's more than just one way to
target okay so nothing you know nothing
at all that is groundbreaking at this
point right any of us could do this in
literally a matter of minutes and maybe
you have a niche and a Bronston have a
niche in mind Bronson you can go into
audience insights and go check out the
size of your niche and if it's big
enough right if it's big enough over 500
thousand then great that's you check
this niche selection thing off your list
okay now we're going to go and talk
about platform and partners and in this
case platform there's really only one
option and that's Shopify okay Shopify
if you don't know what Shopify is it's a
hosted ecommerce solution what does that
mean
it means basically they host your
ecommerce store they can they you know
they have all the functionality kind of
out of the box right you don't need to
go a self-hosted ecommerce would be
something like WooCommerce or something
that you would build custom right so if
you're thinking that to get into the
t-shirt business you need to spend
$35,000
on a programmer to build some robust
ecommerce site well get that out of your
head right now you don't need that okay
Shopify is already existing Shopify the
Shopify is already is already here right
it's already built out it's got all the
functionality that you need and because
someone's going to say inevitably I know
that you know we have close to a
thousand people watching on the various
streams someone is going to post a
comment and say well I don't want to pay
for Shopify I want to use WooCommerce
from commerce is free and if you don't
know what WooCommerce is basically its
WordPress which is a content management
system it's WordPress is ecommerce
solution ok so you want to go and use
WooCommerce because you want to save the
twenty nine to seventy nine dollars that
it cost per month on Shopify and by the
way you get ten percent off if you use
my link which I'm going to share with
you just you know as a thank you for
joining
but you know what commerce great it's
free okay it's free to get started but
what about hosting right you need to
host it yourself so out of the we have a
load see what's the number we have about
ten well you know one thousand fifty
people on the various streams here I
would guarantee that 99.999% of you have
no idea what server management is have
no idea how to deal with elastic cloud
servers and balancing server loads and
making sure that your site stays online
right one or the quickest way to have
zero conversion rate on your ads send
traffic to a site that's down because
the server got overloaded right so you
think that you know out of the box where
commerce is free well it's not you need
to be paying for hosting and any good
hosting is going to cost way way way
more than the $79 a month that Shopify
cost for the professional plan and
Shopify has a 99.99% uptime guarantee
that means something like twelve minutes
out of the year they they may be down
right it's Shopify you know there's
really it's no consideration right and I
call it kind of the mic drop you know
where where the argument just ends right
if you send traffic to a site that's
down because you aren't managing the
server correctly or you have no idea
what server management even means then
you're going to lose you know you can't
tell anything right you spend and I've
had days where I'd spent twenty five to
thirty thousand dollars on Facebook ads
imagine if I was sending that to a site
that was down right no one's going to
tell you that your site's down Facebook
ads they don't know right the ad is
going to keep going you're going to keep
spending people are going to keep
clicking and they're going to just click
to a
Okin link so that's the mic drop right
there you're not using move commerce
you're not going to investigate
WooCommerce let me give you another
example that wasn't already enough you
want to integrate we have partners on
here we're going to cover that next your
t-shirt printing partners well they
don't integrate with WooCommerce so go
ahead and pay a developer five to ten
thousand dollars to build a specific
integration for WooCommerce so you can
have one converse talk directly to your
t-shirt printer right it's it's just not
a road that's worth going down okay you
want to be don't going with Shopify and
that's the bottom line okay so I notice
I'm going to give it you at the end we

your product all that stuff is already
built it took literally ten seconds they
built it in the background so you're
just going to have to go and enter in
all of your information here okay and
this is just basically for Shopify's
information you'll it doesn't even
matter what you put it over here and you
know just we're going to go and enter
our store ok just basically filling out
the form and you're going to get into
your Shopify dashboard okay so this is
the Shopify dashboard and we're over
here this is going to be your home base
and once you actually get started you're
going to see you know how much money
make per day how much visitors you know
how much traffic how much revenue how
many orders what the conversion rate is
you're going to see all that inside your
Shopify dashboard first thing that you
need to do is come down here and click
create an online store now you know this
might seem backward they just recently
added this you could actually sell you
know for example you could sell in
person so you don't want to have an
online store but we're talking about
obviously an online t-shirt store you're
going to come over here and click add
online store ok so we've got our online
store built and now we need to launch
our online so we're going to select a
free theme so inevitably someone's going
to say well you know why should I use a
free theme I want to do this the right
way I'm going to go and get a paid theme
well you know I've done seven figures in
multiple stores all using free themes
all right you don't need to have a paid
theme and there's actually a bunch of
advantages for using a free theme we can
come down over here in your account you
can go over here to Shopify Help Center
and one of the best parts about Shopify
is they have great live support right we
can go and open a chat right now and
chat with the Shopify guru all the
Guru's have to know all these free
themes so why is that beneficial for you
well you're going to get good support
right you can actually get live chat
support on things that say you're
confused about
you want to change the color or you know
you need to change this or that or
whatever these Shopify support agents
they can actually help you with that
that's powerful right so there's a
couple themes that I like
here's minimal theme this is pretty good
but here's the one that I really like
this is Brooklyn theme okay and we can
click here we can view a demo of it and
this is what a fully built out Brooklyn
theme would look like right you know you
have our logo navigation we have a nice
big background image with a little
call-to-action you know we could have
featured text featured collections
collections are basically just
categories in Shopify featured products
right nice little email list we all know
how important collect the email
addresses is right our social media
icons it's all there it's all built our
little credit card icons I'll show you
how it looks on mobile whoops okay and
on mobile looks really good where we've
got this little hamburger menu here that
slides out we have a shopping cart and
all the images kind of they align nicely
on mobile right and mobile is super
important right 85 percent of my traffic
from Facebook is mobile so if you don't
have a mobile optimized site you know
you're in for a really bad time okay you
need to have a mobile optimized site so
you got this going and this looks great
now what we're going to do is publish
this theme so basically we're publishing
this theme the bare-bones of this theme
is I can have any of this you know
rugged out outerwear whatever but we're
publishing this into our store right now
okay and you can click over here and
actually view the store so our bowling
shirt store is now built obviously this
doesn't look good but we have a home
page right we have all these sections
the featured products featured
collections and now it's time to
actually go and customize this theme
right we want to have it be a finished
product like this and again we started
at 12:22 we need to have a Shopify
account it's not going to be that
challenging to be done right it's very
easy to get this going okay so we're
going to go over here into themes we're
going to come up here and click
customize theme now again the real cool
thing about Shopify is you can customize
this look and feel you're going to have
a finished product like this and you're
not going to need to touch any code at
all right you don't need to be a
designer you don't need to be a
developer you don't need to do you don't
need to have really any technical skill
we're going to run through this whole
thing and we're going to build this
store okay so presets up here you could
ignore okay this is just you know don't
don't worry about that
now colors right and again no code is
needed we can literally so here's the
text right we can change the text on the
fly now you see now it's this weird
turquoise blue or maybe we want to make
it pink or whatever I you can change it
to any color now you know for the sake
of our readers eyes I'm going to I
recommend you keep it black okay but
there's other colors that we're going to
want to customize and how do we know
what colors we want to go with well we
need to build a color scheme for our
store and then that speaks to the niche
that we're in so we need to have a color
scheme that's on point for you know we
pick bowling this time we need to have a
color scheme that resonates with people
that like bowling so how do we know what
that is well we just go to google and we
could type in bold okay we're going to
try to pick out some themes in terms of
colors right and a good way to do that
is to go into images and if you take a
look at some of the you know the more
popular websites for bowling like AMF
calm right or Bowl calm and let's just
look at some themes right I think I
think you know you can already imagine
the colors for bowling right I was
envisioning red white and black for the
pins right in the ball and stuff like
that you're seeing a lot of red and
white and you know a lot of red even
some blue see what colors we have over
here right here's more red and yellow
and white and black a little bit of
purple but again overall red and black
over here we got red white and blue so I
think that we can go with a color scheme
of you know potentially red black and
white or red blue and white I happen to
like how red black and white looks good
but I don't you know there's either one
is going to work right and the important
thing is here is that we're not you know
we're not picking green and and yellow
and and gray right there's you know
those colors don't resonate with bowlers
right when you think about bowling
subconsciously you're thinking about
these colors I you know I was thinking
in my head ones when they said bowling I
knew we're going to get to this point I
already knew that it was gonna be
something like red black and white and
and you know if you close your eyes and
imagine bowling and bowling sites and
bowling themes and products you know I
would think that you know red black and
white
ventually blue would come into your mind
for colors okay so we're going to go
build a red black and white color scheme
and again it's super easy right we don't
want to make text anything other than
black you don't to make it hard to read
but how about links for example right
this link is gold you can see right here
links and accents are gold what we want
to
change that to red so as as simple as
going down into the Reds and we could
literally see it live and we'll pick a
red that we like you know I might pick a
little darker red okay something around
here
and we're going to want to select this
this is called a hex color code it's
basically just a HTML code for this
color red and we're going to want to
copy this because if we're going to use
this shade of red we want to use the
shade of red everywhere
okay so there's some other things like
how about buttons right we could change
the buttons to be red okay and you see
it just changed right how about little
lines like this line color you could
change and again we want to use the same
Rhett okay so we're getting that going
what else we could change buttons down
here as well and you're not going to
really see this in this example for here
even sale tags you could change that
sale tags basically when you have a
product that you know change the price
to be like an on sale products going to
be a little circle over the product it
says sale okay so red black and white
you know we've implemented our color so
far and we're going to save our changes
so let's come back over here into our
store right and you know it's not
looking like anything good yet but we're
getting there right we have a color
scheme now red black and white okay so
let's just continue to customize our
theme colors or next we're going go is
to typography and you have a couple
options for typography you could do sans
serif or serif fonts this is a serif
font these little hooks at the end this
is a sans serif font right this one that
has no hooks it just kind of curved and
in my opinion you want to have
consistency for all of your fonts so I
like picking Helvetica new and this is
just a very popular sans serif I
remember sans-serif means without the
hooks

to change right here this Hiro banner
this is currently old standard which is
a serif font right it's inside this
block of serif we're going to come up
here to sans-serif
Helvetica new and you can see this page
is going to reload and this font is now
changed right and just for consistency
sake I'm going to make all the fonts
helva Tekin okay you can play around
with this you maybe know maybe you want
to do a different font maybe you like
serif fonts or maybe you think that
people who like bowling would like serif
fonts better you know and you can see
over here here's a serif font here's a
sans-serif you know so I think it's
really you know these are sans-serif
fonts so I typically like sans-serif
the curved edge fonts okay your personal
preference here okay you're going to
save it okay now we're going to come
over here again reload and this is going
to change so we're getting there right
you know we've only been doing this for
ten minutes ago we didn't have a Shopify
site you know now we're getting there is
nothing great but we're close okay so
we're gonna keep going through and
header okay and this is the point where

believe that you can do it yourself okay
you want to hire someone to do a logo
we'll talk about where to get designs
later for your t-shirts you can go and
get it logo as well you should pay
between 50 and $100 for a logo just so
we can have a complete example I'm going
to build this logo myself so I'm on this
little slide called free pick calm and
I'm just going to type in Bolin okay
basically I'm going to build a very
basic logo inside of inside of Photoshop
okay and let's see if there's any
anything that's even you know somewhat
nice here and nothing great and see
she's checking some stuff up here see if
I can find any any cool graphics and you
know this one's okay and again you know
you're going to want to have you're
certainly going to want to have a
designer build your your logo okay and
we're doing pin heads seed heads is the

if you are not a designer right then I

your first impression to your buyer it
needs to be strong okay if you have a
really ugly logo then why is anyone
going to go and put their credit card

experience in Photoshop but even so for
my stores I don't build them myself I
want I want a designer to do I can't
stress that enough
I'm doing this just for examples sake
I'm going to pick a random font here
okay that's super ugly and that's fine
okay again a logo designer will be able
to make this much nicer than you'll ever
be able to make it especially if you
don't have any design skill okay so just
keep that in mind okay we don't want to
have to build a design or logo ourselves
you know it's just it's it's simply not
going to work if it looks ugly because
I'm just making this a little bit a
little bit nicer now and you know make
this a little bigger

okay and remember we want to use if
we're going to use red we want to use
the same red that we had previously in
the color so I'm going to come back over
here grab the same red is the hex code
right and now I'm going to simply change
the color of my logo and don't don't
don't forget about this okay you know if
you're not a designer then don't pretend
to be one okay if you're not a designer
that's fine you go and get this logo
design okay and when you're done your
designer is going to give you this
finished logo file you're going to then
go and put into your your site because
I'm just saving this real quick I'm
going to upload it back into our site

coming back here into header now we're
going to come in here and click use a
custom logo and I'm simply going to go
and upload the logo that I just created
now remember I can't stress it enough
you'll have a designer create your logo
right maybe I want to make this a little
bit wider so I could change the width
okay and now you know I think you know
that's looking pretty good if this
actually maybe a little bit too big so
shrink this down a little bit okay and
now we have a site with a logo and we're
going to come over here we're going to
reload our page and see what it's
looking like and I think I forgot to
save the changes yeah so saving the
changes coming back over here reloading
our site and now we have little bit of a
color scheme we have a logo right we
have the matching red right we have our
red black and white color scheme going
so great
and last time I'll say it but you don't
want to make this logo yourself okay I
you know this is okay but I would want
to have a much stronger logo to start
with okay
first impression of your site you only
have one opportunity for that first
impression you need people to feel
comfortable enough to take their credit
card out you can't be with just some
clipart logo okay I'm not pretending
that I'm a designer I know I'm not I
don't design my own stuff but for this
example I'm showing it to you here okay
so there you go we're done with the
header section now we have the homepage
section and this is basically going to
say what sections are on the homepage
right here's our hero's slideshow here
is our featured content right featured
content featured content here's our
featured collections right and here's
our featured products let's say we only
want to have featured products and the
hero slideshow up here we could simply

press none press none and just turn it
off and Nicholas says that's a nice logo

in your real store you want to have
something that is legitimate you know
you wanna have something nice okay you
want to have a legitimate design or
building that for you so I turn these
off I turn the featured content in the
featured collections and then you know
you see that updates in real time all we
have now is the slideshow and the
featured products great so got that
going and we are now going to customize
the hero slideshow so you have right
here here's the specific sections right
we turn that we turned off the featured
content in the future collection so we
have the hero slideshow and we could
actually make this rotate you know if
you if you pay attention to this one you
actually see there's two different
slides here right but I actually just I
like having one okay so I'm going to
turn off this thing and we're going to
have this first slide enabled you need a
1200 pixel image okay and what I'm going
to do right now I'm telling you this is
just for examples sake okay this is not
how you're going to want to build this
type of thing because I'll tell you that
it's you know truthfully you can't just
take an image okay you can just take an
image from Google you need to buy
something like a stock image and you can
just Google stock images places like
iStockphoto Shutterstock once you 3rf
big stock photo you see these things
over here you know these are stock photo
sites where you actually have the rights
to use the images now for example sake
again I'm going to just do this it's not
the right way to do it but for example
sake I'm going to go and I'm going to
take an image here and I'm going to try
to find something that I think is going
to look cool as the opening image on my
site okay and let's see what what looks
cool here we need something that's at
least 1200 pixels in size and okay I
think this is pretty cool and I'm going
to view the image again you're going to
want to make sure that you have the
rights to use this image right and you
can't just take from Google I'm doing
this for example sake only I'm going to
make a few changes here and in fact I'm
going to shrink the image a little bit
and you know again you want to find a
stock image for this right that's going
to give you the rights to use it
but for example sake we're going to use
this image and honestly you might not
work it in the first try maybe it
doesn't look good with our color scheme
but we're back over here on slide 1 now
we're going to simply click replace and
now we're going to upload this
background image that I just found so
we'll see how it looks is going to
update in real time and let's see there
we go so I think it actually looks great
obviously we need to change this to
white font and they got us covered right
here text color dark or light we're
going to switch to light it's going to
change the navigation and the headers to
white this will load in a second so you
know a little bit a little bit hard to
read right so you're going to want to
find an image and we'll keep this for
example sake but you're going to want to
find an image that is going to make
things that are easier to read and I
really want to spend too much time and
let's see if I can find another one that
might be a better example just very
quickly okay so I'm going to just do the
same thing that I did before and you
know I know I'm going quick here you
could leverage your designer for this or
you know most likely you're just going
to leverage your what do you call your
going to leverage your stock photo okay
you're going to get a stock photo that
works nicely in your theme and you're
going to come over here and upload it
I'm going to try the second one this
white one we'll pick one of these two
okay just for example sake again you're
going to have it in this one's obviously
lighter we're going to want to change
our text color back to dark and let's
see how this looks okay I think that
looks great right so if you if you like
bowling and you come to this site right
you have no there's no confusion right

is a bowling site there's no two ways
about you got a logo name I'm sorry a
bowling name a bowling logo a bowling
domain name which will set up later
right and now a big bowling background
image right at the start now we can
customize this text I like putting
something like bowling t-shirts

now if we go and reload our website you
know I think this looks pretty damn good
for a you know a bowling t-shirt website
right you come to this website you have
no doubt in your mind about what's going
on here right this is
clearly a bowling website so you know
what we're doing you start targeting
people that that are into bowling right
we're completely on point we're
completely on brand and in fact our
color scheme you know works very well
with this picture white bled white red
and black this is exactly right all
right so we're you know we're going
pretty we're doing pretty well here
let's continue to customize our site
where we're going to come down here
featured collections we turned off so
we'll go to featured products and it's
simply going to ask us what collection
and in Shopify collection is just simply
a category what collection should build
these featured products we just leave it
as the home page collection that's an
easy way for you to add products to the
homepage you just simply add them to the
home page collection inside a Shopify
okay so let's keep going
future collections we talked about it's
all feature products we just did
featured content we turned off so now we
go to the product page only one option
here enable image zoom or not I turn it
off because on mobile it doesn't always
work okay and we never want to have
anything that doesn't work on mobile
considering that mobile is our biggest
source of traffic so we'll turn that off
and we'll go to the collection page we
have a couple options here do you want
to show it as a grid style do you want
to be grid or collage grid is like a
nice even lines like you know maybe four
items per line like this is a nice grid
so we're going to switch at the grid
personal preference if you want to show
collection tags or not I don't tags I
often use just to kind of organize
things on the back end now we're just
going to continue to customize in the
cart page here's a big one right so the
cart type and this is going to happen on
any theme you're going to have a drawer
or a page here's what a drawer is
alright it slides out from the side you
absolutely do not want this okay you
want to go over here and change it to
page and I'll show you what happens
we'll save this and literally what's
going to happen is now when we press the
cart button it's going to go to its own
cart page and this is super important
for Facebook Ads
okay you need to make sure that you have
your own cart page very important okay
so every theme is going to have this
option you always want to turn off
drawer and turn on page okay so we're
going with that so go back to the home
page let's continue to customize here
now we're on the newsletter right I
definitely recommend MailChimp it's free
for the first two thousand emails so
that's great and you can integrate your
MailChimp account with this little email
signup button
to do is click this button or this link
and it's going to tell you how to get
the MailChimp perform an action URL you
need to sign up for a free account it's
going to look something like this you're
going to copy and paste something like
this into this area so this link will
give you all the instruction on how to
do that going through social media we're
going to want to add our social media
links right if you have Twitter Facebook
whatever you have put it on there it's
really just a means of building trust
now you're going to see down here the
icons are going to pop up right Facebook
Twitter Pinterest okay anything that you
enter like if you want to do Instagram
we add Instagram and now the Instagram
icon will load down here okay super
simple so let's go I think we have one
more thing on here yeah checkout page so
Shopify controls to check the checkout
page so there's not much you can do
there but what you can definitely do is
implement your logo which this is this
becomes the storefront logo so you just
come over here and click storefront and
save it and now your checkout page is as
customized as you can you know basically
just adding your logo okay so literally
we were just ran through everything in

work and we have this fully custom

needing any technical expertise there's
no other business in the world that's

all right t-shirts in 2016 is by far the
best business that's it that's out
that's the bottom line all right so
we're going to continue to get get set
up but we've only spent 25 minutes on
our site and in my opinion you know I
would have zero problem going live with
the site I think it speaks to people who
like bowling I think it's a you know
moderately professional logo I you know
like I said I would go and get a real
logo done great homepage banner and
we've set up everything else okay
so we've set up the fee okay now we're
going to go we're done with the theme
panel now we can click over here back to
themes page and now we're going to run
through the settings okay nuts down here
in your Shopify site settings and you
got all your information here and we're
going to go through here's the general
tab you just gonna want to fill this out
right put your business name and you
know any all the other information most
of this has been copied over from that
first forum that you did when you signed
up okay and go down here to payments
okay so obviously we need to be able to
accept payments and right out of the box
you're gonna be able to accept paypal
and all the major credit cards through
Shopify payments so if you actually read
this over here it says after your first
sale PayPal will email you at the email
address that you signed up with with
instructions for setting up a PayPal
account so literally you don't even need
to have a PayPal account and you can
still accept paypal on day one now if
you do have a PayPal account you can
come over here and click Edit and you
can just put in your existing PayPal
account email address okay over here for
Shopify payments this one in my opinion
is more important this allows you to
accept credit cards directly through
Shopify you're going to be able to
accept credit cards without touching
anything right you can accept credit
cards right now but you need to go in
here and click complete Shopify payments
account setup because it says before
your sales can be deposited in your bank
account you need to provide some
information like your EIN and your your
birthdate your social security number
all that kind of stuff you know the
information that you want to have show
up on the credit card statement and most
importantly your bank's routing
information and account information so
you can get paid all right people are
able to pay for the product but you see
right here before your sales can be
deposited into your account you need to
set this up fully
okay so payments that's all you need to
worry about Shopify payments and PayPal
okay there are some additional ones over
here Amazon
and you know some of these other payment
types but these are the ones that you're
going to want to focus on okay next
thing on the list checkout so we're
coming over here on checkout customer
accounts I always like setting it as
optional right me personally I like
doing guest checkout on most e-commerce
stores you probably like it as well but
if someone wants to give you more
information right if someone wants to
give you a more info their email address
you know build an account and have a
login and all that stuff and you
definitely want to let them write they
want to give you more information you're
definitely gonna take so I like setting
accounts to be optional over here you
kind of ignore this order processing you
know you're going to focus on this one
right here customer consent and this
basically means do they in the box for
opting into your email marketing is it
pre checked or unchecked this one is pre
checked this one is unchecked that's
personal preference for you okay there's
going to be a big section here for the
Facebook pixel this is where you going
to want to paste in your Facebook
conversion purchase pixel okay and
that's going to be inside your Facebook
Ads account and then down here these are
prerequisites to being able to advertise
on pretty much any paid advertising
network Facebook for sure you need to
have a refund privacy and T Terms of
Service statement Terms of Service pages
okay so a refund policy page privacy
page TOS page and Shopify makes it super
easier for you write in literally one
second you're gonna be able to do this
right generate sample generate sample
generate sample they've built out these
little templated refund policy privacy
policy and Terms of Service and you're
going to come over here and read this
whole thing and edit it to make sense
for you maybe or maybe your return
policy is 60 days okay so good change it
to sixty days okay maybe you know you
want to add something here whatever you
want to add some of these to your Terms
of Service you know be my guest go ahead
but it's certainly great to start with
these sample policies and then you just
save okay so we've got that saved and
now we're going to go and continue to
let's see continue to build out the
settings so we did a general payments
check out now we're under shipping so a
very important thing to understand about
shipping
shipping in Shopify is by weight the
weight of your product and it's not at
all about the actual weight of your
product like if your t-shirt doesn't
matter what your t-shirt weighs in real
life right it's a you need to build
these shipping rules where you match
your your product weights to shipping
rules that are by weight okay and this
this is an example rules anything zero
to five pounds you're going to charge
eight dollars right so let's say you set
your your t-shirt weight to be one pound
then you're going to let's say you want
to charge five dollars shipping which is
fair right one t-shirt for five dollars
is going to come over here and click Add
shipping rate you're going to do based
on order weight you can call it you know
standard shipping or whatever you want
to call it and then remember if your
t-shirt is one pound and you want to
charge one for one t-shirt you want to
charge five dollars you go one pound to
one pound for five dollars okay we're
going to save that rule so now anytime
the total cart weight is one pound and
that would mean one t-shirt if you set
your t-shirt to one pound then they're
going to be charged five dollars and
then you need to set up rules for two
and three and four and five and so on
and so on and so on
okay you need to have all different
combinations of shipping set up if you
don't have a shipping rule set up for
specific accommodations let's say
someone adds twenty-one t-shirts to your
shopping cart that's a total total
weight of 21 pounds they're going to be
charged free shipping because there's no
21 pound so what I like to do is
basically have a catch-all rule and I'll
make us something all the way up to like
you know nine thousand pounds right no
was going to buy nine thousand items so
over here maybe I make it $25 one have a
catch-all rule because the last thing
that you want to have is someone get to
checkout and have free shipping because
you didn't set up the rule right that's
on you you need to set up the shipping
rates and remember that you can edit the
product wait that's the important thing
that's your product weights to your
shipping rules and you could edit the
product weights all you want it doesn't
matter what the real weight is it's just
a way to use to build ship it okay next
is taxes over here on the tax side of
things if you're in the US they're going
to set this up automatically for you and
it's the idea of what's called a nexus a
nexus is wherever your company is based
so if you're based in California you're
going to see over here I'm based in
California right they have my California
sales tax set up if you have another
physical presence we'll say physical
presence in Nevada you go here putting a
in put in your zip code it's going to
calculate the state tax if you're
overseas you're going to want to consult
with your you know a local accountant
then figure out what taxes you need to
charge ok notifications these are the
emails that get sent to the customer for
example order confirmation email so when
someone places in order to get an email
and you know again without touching any
code you can edit this email right and I
like to do something like this we have a
bowling store right
a bowling fanatic right now I'm just I
added just a very little bit of
personalization but you know when you
when you're a bowling fan and you read
this right that speaks directly to you
that makes you you know that makes you
excited right that makes you feel a
better connection so literally this is
just text right you can put put anything
you want here okay so you can literally
save any type of text in here and just
save right there's different emails in
here like shipping confirmation and I'll
talk about you know when you have a good
t-shirt fulfillment partner for example
thread me up they'll actually send you
or I'm sorry send your customer on your
behalf the shipping confirmation email
and you know that's super important
because inside that email it's going to
say that the order has shipped and it's
going to give them the tracking number
that's why having a good facility
partner like thread me up is so
important it actually cuts down on your
work right
the most common post sale question is
where is my order what's my tracking
number how much you know how much longer
if I get my order right those questions
go out the window when you have a thread
meet when you have thread me up sending
on your behalf the shipping confirmation
right they could just check out the
tracking link and you're done that's
super important ok so you can customize
all these emails files we can skip this
is an important account a couple things
here we're gonna talk about plan types
right so if you sign up through my link

of these plans and I certainly recommend
the $79 a month one and why do I do that
well first of all you get a little bit
better credit card rate 2.6 percent as
opposed to 2.9 percent okay so you save

have to do is go into orders

you have to do all this sorting and
reporting in order to get it trust me
your time is worth way more than $50 a
month get the you know inside of Shopify
on settings account in the plan you want
to go with this professional plan okay
I'm telling you it's well worth your
time the reports are so so so valuable
sales channels you can skip online store

absolutely need to install Google
Analytics if you've never done it before
it's free you just click over here learn
more about Google Analytics it will walk
you through how to set up ecommerce

you've never heard of Google Analytics
it is by far the industry leader in
website statistics so you need it

Shopify store and Shopify will send
orders to thread me up so they can go
and print them okay so now we're going
to come over here if you come over to
your App Store we'll reload it now

me up fulfill you can't add it like
another app it's private you have to use

when you go into your account in
settings and you go to the store
integrations and you put in your Shopify
store sub domain remember that's bowling
- shirt I can store my Shopify com
okay and one thing I forgot to mention
over here on online store and domains
you can come over here and buy a new
domain right so maybe I want to do
pinheads store.com check the
availability and if it's available you'd
literally be able to purchase it's only
$13 you be able to purchase it right so
the domain is available putting your
credit card information buy it and then
you have a you know then this would
change right your your your live store
domain would be your calm your still
this is always going to be used to do
the integration though you're not going
to use the domain when you go over here
it's always got to be that my Shopify
com domain okay so now we're integrated
now what we have to do is go and
actually build our first shirt so we'll
come back over here to movements and
then basically call
products movements we're gonna click new
movement and now it's incredibly
straightforward and I've actually done
some bowling designs in the past and you
know as we were loading to someone on my
other screen I brought up some of them
and here's a design file okay and this
is what we're gonna talk about in the
next section but this is an actual
design file that a graphic designer
created for me okay this is what we're
going to go this is our inventory right
we're talking about literally a design
file this is 420 kilobytes on my on my
hard drive right this is our inventory a
simple design file
these are inventory because remember
print-on-demand all we need to do is
have design files on file with read me
up thread me up sends them to Shopify
and when orders come Shopify sends the
order information to thread me up this
is our inventory right let me say that
again this this file is our inventory
not 100 shirts 1,000 shirts 10 thousand
shirts sitting in a garage somewhere no
a digital design file right again
there's no other business like this you
could sell one 110 thousand a million
copies of this year you'll never have to
own a shirt you'll never have to ship a
shirt you'll never have to fold it and
put it in a bubble mailer and and you
know close it and stick a label on and
up you don't need to do that
this business is incredible that's the
bottom line right so we'll talk about
how to get these design files in the
next section but I already have them
okay we're going to come over here we're
going to simply click upload file and
I'm going to come over here and I'm
going to add the design file and it's a
white design so you're not gonna be able
to see it right now we want to change
the shirt and you do this in real time
right and we can move it around let's
say we want it to be a little higher on
the on the shirt okay until we move it
around so it looks good okay that that's
nice maybe black okay blacks nice how
about Navy nice how about red oh you
know it's a nice member all right
whatever you'll pick any color you want
okay I'll say that the most popular
colors are black navy red and royal so
in this first section we just have to
pick one default and we could change the
product like maybe we want to do a
ladies tee or a v-neck or a long-sleeve
shirt or a hoodie or a flowy tank top
this is super popular this style okay
but we just need to have a default style
here we're going to make it our black
men's tee and we'll go to the next step
and the next step is where we can choose
more styles and set our pricing so this
pricing will get sent over to
Shopify I do 2299 and I'll often add
maybe on Navy and the red ok so now we
have men's in three options that are
going to add another product and we'll
add the ladies too okay I also do 2299
and I'll add the same colors Navy and
red and let's say I want to add a hoodie
okay I'll come down here and I will find
the hoodie where is it
hoodie and here I'll charge $39.99 for
it and I'll do the same colors right
Navy and red ok so what we have right
now are three different styles with
three different colors each so you know
we're giving a good amount of options to
our customer now we're going to go to
the last step okay only a few things
that we need to be worried about here so
it's just taking a little bit to load so
we're going we're going to put in our
title and this will get sent over to our
Shopify store so I'm going to put here
for the balls and here and then here you
can put in your description and you know
just for time setting up a limited
edition you need to have a thread me up
URL but no one's going to see this this
is not going to be the URL that you
promote this is not going to be your
Shopify URL so I like putting in just
basically bowling store design one okay
now end date this is important thread me
up is unique in the fact that they'll
give you they'll give you volume
discounts right there the only t-shirt
shop there the only future
print-on-demand partner where they
actually give volume discounts what does
that mean
if you sell one it will be maybe about
$10 right if you sell 24 it will be
about seven dollars and change alright
that's a huge difference right adding
additional three dollars of margin
that's great so how do you set that up
you need to set an end date and I
typically like to do it one week from
the day that I start so seven days from
now is the 22nd so that's going to be my
end date so what happens there is at the
end of seven days this the seven day
thing counter will restart but any
orders within those seven days will be
held until the seventh day then they'll
be they'll all get printed at once and
that's where you get to have the volume
discount if you sold twenty shirts then
you get to have the price for twenty
shirts instead of one that's very very
beneficial it's going to make your cost
lower and make
you know you're going to make more money
yes this does make the customer receive
the shirt in a little bit later time
what I like to say is you're going to
get your shirt within 10 to 14 days so
let's say you ordered on the first day
of the seven day batch your shirt
wouldn't get printed till the seventh
day then it takes about four to seven
days to get to the customer and that's
totally fair you just need to be
transparent about it okay so you set the
title you have the description you set
this URL which is meaningless and you
set the end date maybe you want to have
a one day batch date fine
you set the end date to be tomorrow okay
I like doing seven day batches they're
going to click launch movement and it's
going to basically launch the movement
into thread me up there's one more step
that we need to do okay we're going to
go over into return to dashboard now and
what we need to do is send this product
so here's our product we need to go and
send it to Shopify so what we're going
to do we're going over here and press
settings so little gear icon and you're
going to scroll all the way down you're
going to see Store integrations and
here's our bowling store so we select
both bowling store now we have options
push has a multiple store product or
push as a single product I always do
single product that means all the
options in one so we're going to push
movement and now it's going to say your
movement is waiting to be sync this may
take some time from a couple minutes up
to a couple hours your products will be
in your store so let's give it a minute
I'm going to grab a quick drink of water
and I think in the you know in a few
minutes or one minute we'll check back
and see if it's in our store
ok so it's been about a minute we'll
come back over here and we're going to
go to our Shopify products section okay
right over here products and let's see
if it got sent over so here's our
product right
we had it over here here for the balls
in beer and now it's over here here for
the balls and beer we're coming over and
look at our product now Shopify or
therming it means to send this digital
design file over but all I need to do is
get sent over you can press delete
because you're going to delete this you
don't need to have it anymore you could
edit anything that you want on this page
the one thing that you can't touch is
the vendor ok if you change the vendor
then Shopify is not going to understand
that this product is connected to thread
me up and they won't send it over to
them so don't touch this don't touch the
SKU here but everything else you could
change like for example I was talking
about shipping weights right you can
come over here and let's say you want to
you know you want to make rules for one
pound come over here and just change the
shipping weight it's a one pound ok you
got to do that for all these and there's
an easy way to do it you could basically
just export all of your files and then
edit them in Excel and then re-upload ok
so our products there let's take a look
at our website ok remember 50 minutes
ago we didn't have a website we had an
email that's it come down here here's
our shirt okay so 51 minutes ago we had
nothing right now we have a fully
functional store completely customized
the logo color scheme etc we have all of
our settings set up we have our payments
set up we have our theme customized we
have the best t-shirt printer in the
business thread me up integrated into
our store we have our first product
right we have literally you're able to
go and you could add this product you
can go buy this product right now Add to
Cart right you have your Add to Cart you
could do PayPal you could do Shopify
payments ok literally 50 minutes ago we
had nothing now we have a live store
with our first t-shirt in there right

worry about any of that right all we
need to do is have the design file on
file with read me up create the movement
and simply send it over to our Shopify

the the big thing in this business is
getting t-shirt designs right we need to
have people I mean I'm sorry Deb
products right we need to have products
that people can buy our products our
t-shirts and in the business nowadays
it's not about having this physical
shirt remember it's about having this
design so we need to go and get designs
like these right if you want to go on
the bowling that you need to have
bowling designs so here's another
bowling example my drinking team has a
bowling problem right you can get the
get the idea of you know funny type
shirts they do sell well ok so there's a
couple designs right so how do you get
designs ok well you need to have a
graphic designer
you know unless you're a legitimate
artist a legitimate graphic designer
don't try this yourself ok you need to
have something that you know I can't
stress this enough right there needs to
be a threshold of design quality where
it's good enough that people are going
to buy you need to ask yourself the
question would I be embarrassed to wear
this shirt right if I was walking in
Target or Walmart or Macy's whatever and
I see a stack of graphic tees on the
shelf if your design would stick out
there for being basically as a sore
thumb sticks out like a sore thumb in
terms of being so ugly
then you need a better design right
these are not things that people are
buying just to hang in their closet they
need to wear them across their chest
right we're focusing on passion because
you know people who like bowling they
want to wear this shirt because they're
passionate about it if it's ugly I don't
care how passionate about it they're
never going to wear it right now they
don't why they're not going to pay money
to look stupid
ok so design quality is super important
so where do we find designs or where do
we find designers to create our designs
ok a couple different places the best
one to me is upwork.com ok upwork.com
basically just a big it's basically just
a big community for freelancers
and just real quick I got a question
does both pricing apply for mixed sizes
or just total units
it applies for any size any print so
hoodie t-shirt ladies fee whatever of
the same design so if you sell ten
hoodies and five t-shirts and eight tank
tops and 10 women's cuts then you get
the total number that's your volume
right grab me up is you know they're the
best in the business right
they have great reliability they you
know they printed over a million shirts
but more so than that you just simply
make the most money with them right it's
a no-brainer so what sort of file do you
need for the designs we'll talk about
that right now so you're gonna go to up
were calm you can also check out
freelancer calm you can check out
Craigslist if you want to find someone
local or even go in Google graphic
design forums and there's a lot of
especially freelancers that are on
different graphic design forums and
message boards okay so but for example
it's as simple as going in here and
typing in something like and we log in
first actually so I'll log in here and
we're going to come back to the home
page okay let's take a little bit and
we're going to search for t-shirt
designer okay
so we got a lot of different designers
on here literally thousands and
thousands of t-shirt designers at your
fingertips and you can literally come
right in here and you can go and check
out things and go and look at most
specifically their portfolio right you
need to judge them by their portfolio
okay we're going to take a look and you
know if you're thinking you have to ask
yourself a question if you think that
these designs are embarrassing to wear
then you absolutely don't want to work
with this person right I think these
designs are not great you know I don't
think they're horrible I don't think
they're so good okay let's take a look
at someone else
and I'll tell you what probably the
hardest part in this business is finding
a good t-shirt designer because you're
going to be with them
whoops you're gonna be with them forever
right they are really like you know a
lot of this business you can do yourself
but if you're not a graphic designer you
need to really rely on designers and you
should be spending about 35 to $100 per
design right I mean look at look at
these quality right this is nice
that's a nice quality design it's also a
nice quality design right it's not
something that you look at and say you
know this is just a bunch of clipart
right now this is a legitimate design
now you know someone going to ask the
question kind of do Jurassic world stuff
know you know you need to have the the
rights to do it right but you could tell
that the quality of design is there okay
the quality design is certainly here so
you want to find a good designer now
what do you want to get from the
designer well first of all you need to
give them a lot of information you need
to give them what's called a design
brief you need to give them all of the
information that you need right so
you're going to tell them about you know
the design files that you need and
that's going to be either a transparent
dot PNG file so this right here is a
transparent PNG file or you need a
vector DPS which is an Adobe Illustrator
file either of those are going to work
if you get a ping file like this you
need to be at least twenty four hundred
pixels in size in the smallest dimension
okay
so you have your give that as your
design brief and what else you're going
to give them you're going to tell them a
deliverable time right you say I want to
get this within three days or five days
or whatever three to five days is fair
okay a big thing is you don't want to
pay hourly okay you always want to go
and find people that will give you a per
project basis okay per project basis as
in you know 35 to 100 dollars is the
cost per design and you want to
negotiate a certain amount of revision
rounds for example you know you can make
one revision round okay so you have
solutely need to to dictate that to the
designer and then you need to give them
design inspiration right you need to say
okay let's say you know so for this file
right for them to they don't just make
this out of thin air you've got to tell
them about you know some design
inspiration and I'll tell you you know
you can find design inspiration on
Pinterest or on Google Images or on one
ello or on on teespring you could take a
look at some of their top sellers but I
found this tool and if you check out

product called teespy okay and P Spy is
exactly what it sounds like it spies on
t-shirts from around the web so if you
want to go and give your t-shirt design
or some inspiration why don't you get

than just random information that you
get from Google Images or Pinterest
right sure I'm Pinterest you can see
designs that have been pinned a lot but
I'm t spy you get to see over 682,000
t-shirt campaigns and you can go in here
and the alert or you can just type in
your niche right let's say our niche is
bolt going here and type in bowling okay
and it's going to load up it's going to
show every single shirt that they've
been able to index from the big sites
like teespring and t chip and viral
style whatever there's five hundred and
thirty nine different bowling t-shirts
and again this link is t'ee justin

senior comm and you're going to
literally come up here once you have an
account the cheapest account is $27 a
month come over here and type in or
press the sales total button and it's
going to sort the shirts by most sold
right so you want to go give your
t-shirt designer some inspiration why
don't you give them inspiration
past the winning designs right let's say
this top shirt sold a thousand t-shirts
what wouldn't it be great to get
inspired from a shirt that has sold a
thousand rather than a shirt that's sold
zero of course right you want to start
off with a winner right you want to give
your designer as much inspiration as
possible and it's you know just simply
the best to give inspiration that are
winners okay so this tool is going to
tell you that there's no other tool like
this right if you go up interest you go
to Google you go to Whannell oh sure you
can see social proof right it might tell
you something like you know four hundred
repin x'
that's valuable but there's nothing more
valuable than knowing how many shirts
have sold right if this shirt over here
this little Grim Reaper shirt right
let's say it sold five thousand copies
then you know that this concept
resonates with your with your niche and
you just simply tell your designer to
make a better version right say you know
you like the idea of having a cool skull
and a ball and you know you think that
the text is pretty cool and you want to
just make a variation to it right that's
way better than starting from scratch
because how do you know if your design
or your idea is great from scratch right
you want to be inspired by winners and
this tool makes it you know just stupid
simple you're just typing your niche and
that's it okay so this is the best place
to find it again

everything but if we can't get people
over to our website that who cares right
we need marketing it's most specifically
on Facebook ads 95 percent of my revenue
every month is coming from Facebook ads
okay so we're going to go and build a
facebook add a couple of prerequisites
here okay
first prerequisite number one is that
you obviously you need to have a
destination URL right you need to send
them somewhere and that's going to be to
your product okay you absolutely want to
have a good domain before we do this
this is just for example sake I'm not
going to buy the domain cable you'll
have maybe pinhead store com slash
product slash here for the balls and
beer this is the URL that we're going to
promote okay that's prerequisite number
one prerequisite number two you need to
have a Facebook fan page we got rid of
these okay so I'll come over here and go
under brand and you can go literally
right under clothing okay and then we
can put something here and we're going
to want to call it pinheads right we're
going to match it up with our name so if
you never built a facebook page before
it's super easy facebook.com slash page

just set up a free page okay get started

real quickly you're going to want to go
and fill in all this information but you

image and it typically works better when
we have a little bit of a square image

so it looks nice okay we have our little

and you know I know this is pixelated
right this is just an example right
you're going to want
this looks a little bit nicer than this
pixelated version here but again we're
doing this for an example when you would
get a logo back from your designer it
would be in a very high quality so this
is going to work no problem okay
so we're back here we're going to build
our ad and if you've never built a
Facebook ad and again I want to disprove
all these misconceptions that there's
anything technically challenging here
you might not have known it but you
already you already know how to do 50%
of the work right everyone here has done
a status update on Facebook right you
may be posted a picture of your vacation
or your kids or your pets or whatever
right everyone has done that and in fact
that is really the the first step to
building an ad right all we need to do
is come in here and actually build a
Facebook post I'm going to give you some
golden nuggets here as I as I build this
I always like opening up with questions
and I call this a loaded question
do you love bowling okay well we know
they love bowling because we're going to
be targeting people in a few minutes
we're going to target people that like
bowling okay so it's very you know it's
what I call a loaded question we know
that they're going to say yes to this
and that's very powerful psychologically
they're already nodding their head yes
saying that they're going you know they
like bowling so they're already agreeing
with us before they've even looked at
our product okay that I might come down

and this is where I'm going to go and

ad so it's just loading our ad account
here and we're going to go and there's a
lot of different ad objectives here you
might have heard of PPE ads and website
conversion ads video ads by far the best
ad type is website conversion app okay
so we're going to click this and in
order to run a website conversion ad we
need to have a destination URL so we're
going to again copy this URL and now
we're going to paste it directly into
here and what we have to do next is
select a conversion event so this
requires you to install the Facebook
pixel right it's you know very it's not
technically challenging lot of people
are overwhelmed by it let's take a you
know a few minutes and we cover that in
depth in terms of how to set that up
inside of the inside of the boot camp
okay so we have that going and we're
going to go and always select the
purchase pixel okay so you just have
been purchase and the pixel does a lot
of great things ready it tracks Add to
Cart so you could track add to wish list
to be out of wish list it obviously can
track purchases like you know checkouts
right so you had been purchase you'll
select this we can name this if you want
test website conversion had won okay and
continue now this is where all the magic
happens this is the targeting okay and
you know we go over this in depth right
an absolute in depth width we call
inside of inside of the t-shirt boot
camp okay but I'll give you one example
of one way to go and do targeting we can
literally just type in the word bowling
here and we could select it right and
now Facebook is so smart right it's so
powerful that they give us all of these
related interest most of these are
related right now bowling this interest
is too big right when we saw that seven
million number that's the overall
audience right we want to be more
specific so how about we target bowling
associations and and you know we don't
even need to research them because
there's already two right here all right
Professional Bowlers Association okay
and you know there's nothing
guess more related things right United
States Bowling Congress and if you don't
know what that is that's fine go to
google and type in United States or
United States Bowling Congress see what
happens you come over here and you learn
that this is actually Bolcom we look at
this website before and this is just
basically it looks like a kind of a
professional bowling league okay so you
want to do associations well you have
one Association well why not add another
one and here it is again USBC PBA so now
we could remove this original bowling
thing okay and we have five hundred
sixty thousand people that like bowling
associations on Facebook right if you
think that selling this product this
bowling t-shirt if you think that people
who like bowling associations
potentially would like this product and
this is marketing 101 you're going to
match up your product right you're gonna
match your product to your customer and
this is one way to find your customer
right again we go in-depth in terms of
how to organize these test builder you
know the audiences that contain buyers
etc etc that's in the bootcamp I'll open
that in a few minutes okay every single
ad I don't care if it's your first edit
your millionth that every ad $5.00 okay
every single ad $5.00 now you come down
here for placements and we're going to
choose our placements and the only thing
that we want to be worried about are the
news feeds okay so we'll turn off
Instagram will turn off audience Network
will turn off right column Instagram is
powerful but not even close to the
newsfeed right we're going to start with
the news feed and the news feed is just
happens when you load facebook calm okay
you load Facebook calm and that's you
know all those stories are your news
feeds so you know we get to literally
not only do we get to advertise on
Facebook calm the homepage which is the
most important web page on the internet
but we get to advertise there for only
five bucks and we get to do it to a
laser targeted audience right we're not
just putting it out there to anyone we
get to leverage these very specific
interests like these bowling leagues we
get to leverage those as our interest so
for $5.00 right you get to advertise
your product on the most important
website in my opinion the most the most
important website and in the world to a
laser targeted audience for five dollars
right that's again there's no business
like this so we're gonna go to the next
step or the last step and this is where
we actually create our ad but remember
we already created this right so we get
to go up here and click use existing
post and we're going to come down here
and
search for our pinheads page it can
heads and it's going to show us all of
our posts in here enough let's say we
had other posts they'd be selectable in
here obvious we're going to select the
one that we just created and this looks
familiar because we created this a few
seconds ago and this how it's going to
look on the desktop newsfeed this is how
it's going to look on the mobile
newsfeed okay and literally we can press
place order and our live would go our ad
we go live in a matter of minutes that's
it right that's all there is to you know
it's taken what ninety six minutes since
we started really we started at about

one of my best skill sets in terms of
coaching right I try to make everything
very easy to understand I hopefully I
made a friend for you guys to understand
today all right that there's really
nothing to be overwhelmed about at all
on this business there's nothing
technically challenging okay so Camp

my business from literally thousands of
dollars per day to tens of thousands of

doing a couple hundred dollars a day

dollars a day on average implemented the
scaling rule seven days later was at

thousand dollars a month a month that's
life-changing money I don't care who you
are make you make seventy five thousand
dollars selling a product that you've
never touched every month you know sign

business is so amazed Christian says is
it easy for me to set up a store from in
the UK yeah absolutely I have a lot of
students that are in the UK I'm not sure
if any of them are in here but yeah
absolutely
is the bootcamp for a newbie uh yeah
it's it's for a newbie but it's also
goes all the way up to advanced right
it's got some very advanced Facebook ad
tactics I mean you know there's a lot
more that I didn't show today in terms
of setting up Shopify and that's
obviously all in there I guess you can
consider that beginner stuff but really
the bootcamp is for beginners through
intermediates because all those Facebook
advant the advanced Facebook marketing
strategies that we talked about
intersecting interest groups retargeting
look like audiences how to scale how to
set up all the different ad types
website conversion of etc etc that's all
in there right so you know I'm not sure
if it's actually you know for only
newbies but obviously if you're just
getting started it's absolutely the
place to be okay I have people in the
bootcamp that I've already been doing
hundreds of dollars per day and they

sales the other day with cost per
conversion around $5 Brandon's in the
bootcamp we just go into my my folder I
have a million freaking proof
screenshots and things like that in
testimonials so we go here okay and here
we go this one was actually posted today
or last night so Andrew during the
bootcamp last week and he made his first
sale he drove you notice how targeted
his ad was he only drove two visits to
the website and and just like that he
got a sale what else do we have uh
here's Dustin he made his first hundred
dollar a day one hundred dollar days and
I think he's been going at this for
about two weeks he's already have two
hundred dollars a day okay a hundred
dollars a day that's three thousand
dollars a month right that might already
surpass your current salary job here's
another guy that just posted their first
sale in the bootcamp
Fernando got in last week so he posted
so what did he get it he got in on April
8th it is a great a great example where
he got in on April 8th last Friday's
last time I opened it he made his first
sale April 9th at 12 o'clock so about
you know 24 hours less than 24 hours
later he made a sale what else do we
have here hey Justin I want to thank you
for all the valuable information he's up
to a thousand dollars a day in revenue
okay a thousand dollars a day that's
thirty thousand dollars a month right so
you know I have all these testimonials
that have been coming in right because
it's just you know flat out works okay
that's the bottom line so yeah I have
assist moans let me take a quick look to
make sure that we're not over the ten

you could also have a dog store and have
different breeds in your dog store okay

talking about $100,000 in four days okay
this is what can happen inside the
t-shirt business what else do we have
February 2016 okay I don't show you the
the revenue side of things this is this
is Google Analytics by the way this is
why it's so powerful you want to have
this installed and I cover that inside
the bootcamp for short right started off
with zero right
day 1 day 2 day 3 day 4 day 5 were
already over $15,000 and and how does
this happen that quickly because of the
scaling rules right you know the initial
stuff is going to get you over here is
going to get you up to a couple hundred
dollars and you take your scaling rules
and you go sky-high right this is the
traffic as well right I'm day on day 4
we already had 5,000 users to our
website right from February 3rd to March
2nd we had two hundred and twenty six

everything that I'm teaching in here I
put in practice myself right I've built
build my business off of this

to be making $1,500 a week at your
salary job you get to sit back and pick
a niche that you like right I sell cat
t-shirts as one of my stores right I
love cats you might have even heard my
cat's in the background here they're
just meowing their heads off
but that's super fun for me because I
love working with cats so now instead of
some boring office job I get to sit home
and sell cat t-shirts it's awesome and
I'm no designer trust me I have no
design skill you don't need it you just
need to have good is you going to go and
find good designers on up work so we got
about five minutes guys let me take a
look if we got if we surpassed our

I'm making the stuff we have not

job has a staff of four or full-time
workers and actually if you if you look
at his Facebook page or his facebook
profile a couple of weeks ago he bought
a brand new motorbike and did a little
bike tour around India you just have you
know having a time of his life and that
you know that's what you know that you
know sure making 150 thousand dollars
whatever that's great but what really
motivates me is to see people like Enoch
joy you know to go from literally not
selling online at all so now having his
life change in a matter of weeks because
he entered the program okay so I think

if you have several designs for the same
shirt how does threatening up and
Shopify product handle it from less
unless you would add each one
individually to your store so your store
could have thousands of designs if you

someone from Pakistan make the store and
earn real dollars absolutely right this
can be done from anywhere it is a big
deal I would literally have to sell my
car to pay that I I totally understand
the 497 is a lot right I but you know
they also have to understand on my end I

information is it took literally
millions of dollars of Facebook ad spend
for me to get all this information I
think I spent two and a half million
last year on ads so you know I have to
charge something for you know so you can
understand that when will you open it

want to do a couple million interests on
Facebook but not many t-shirt designs
for it so a little worried that it could
be a little worried or could be a
goldmine have you entered the niche and
I won't say your niche ello I've never
done anything in a niche but I did have
a coaching student a one-on-one coaching
students that did the niche he had
moderate success with it right it wasn't
it wasn't anything amazing yes she wound
up transferring to a different niche but
he was able to make some sales he didn't
really give it a full chance so I think
that you can definitely still find a lot
of success in that niche it's a very
passionate obviously all right you sound
like you're passionate about it so
that's a good choice okay any other

think about things that you're
passionate about right for me I'm
passionate about cats so it was a
no-brainer for me to do a cat store
because I know other people are also

done a lot of testing on this I found
that just a basic t-shirt is fine you
know you get into the issue of doing
mock-ups and you know having mock-ups
and basically that's like kind of models
wearing your t-shirt right you know you
get into a whole other set of issues of
you know how it looks on them and people
started getting confused about the
sizing I don't do any of that thread me
up mock-ups are absolutely good enough
yeah I've sold millions of dollars of
t-shirts just using those mock-ups so
yeah they're they're totally good enough
